The annual NAWIC Excellence Awards recognise the inspirational achievements women are making across New Zealand’s construction industry

NAWIC Excellence Awards announced for 2019

The 2019 NAWIC Excellence Awards will be held on Friday 27 September in the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s ballroom in Auckland.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an international organisation to support women in the wide variety of roles they fill across the huge range of industries associated with construction. This is the fifth year that the New Zealand chapter has offered these awards, celebrating how women are growing, evolving, standing tall, and being supported by industry, according to NAWIC president Jenny Parker.

NAWIC NZ president Jenny Parker is excited by the potential of the upcoming awards

“These awards are an indication of how we’re maturing as an organisation,” she explains. “And holding it at the RNZYS – home of the America’s Cup – is ideal. The innovation, skills involved, and determination to win exhibited by Team New Zealand are the same qualities our members demonstrate every day.”

NAWIC encourages every woman to nominate themselves or others around them for at least one award. “This is YOUR time to shine – go for it!” says Jenny.

Calls will be going out shortly for entries, and sponsors are already being approached.
