Since 1993 AllCrane Sales & Services Ltd has provided a range of New Zealand’s industrial sectors with first class cranes – new and used, spare parts, hook lifts, and materials handling attachments.
With a focus on sourcing the best plant and equipment and a solid reputation built on providing their customers with first class sales and service, AllCrane’s director and co-founder, Mike Morris and now managing director, believes that the key factor in his company’s success is being dedicated, specialised, and credible.
Mike has worked with cranes and construction equipment since 1971 – both in New Zealand and overseas and his knowledge translates into sourcing the best equipment from around the world to suit the particular conditions required by AllCrane customers. Mike has also been heavily involved in the waste minimisation and recycling industries in New Zealand and is extremely experienced and knowledgeable with both crane and construction machinery.
From an initial core business of cranes and crane spares, AllCrane pioneered the introduction of European manufactured EU standard hook lifts and a wide array of materials handling attachments into New Zealand.
The roll-on roll-off bin system is used for a variety of products and applications, from waste and recycling to bulk materials.
Hook lifts provide a level of dependability and versatility in the movement of goods and machinery by truck and furthermore in the transfer from trucks to trailers – providing transport efficiency. “We’ve led the market with hook lifts in New Zealand and have over 100 units in service around the country right now,” Mike says.
While being able to supply and install a range of hook lifts, AllCrane, as the name suggests, is all about cranes. Mike says that his company is able to source cranes, new and used, as well as spares, from crane manufacturers around the world – Europe, Japan, the US and China. AllCrane holds stocks of 4 tonne/metre to 30 tonne/metre cranes and is able to source 30 to 230 tonne/metre cranes from its global suppliers.
It is the Cormach range of cranes from Italy, however, that Mike believes is one of the more exciting on the market. Cormach cranes cater to all industry sectors – from construction, transport, timber, marine, to the service industries. “Cormach is not just another crane,” Mike says. “They have a significant point of difference against all other cranes available in the market. Instead of a pin and a bush for the main turning bearing, the Cormach cranes utilise an industrial slew ring.”
“This gives the crane a solid, broad base without increasing the crane tear weight, or fitting space required,” Mike says. “The twin column, unique to Cormach, further provides stability and strength and allows the main boom pivot point where the column attaches to the boom sections to be connected by a generous pin supported at both ends. There is no need to counter balance their boom sections with associated additional weight and wear. The telescoping sections are in line and so flex and stress is minimised and the Cormach crane has ‘real crane characteristics’ according to operators. The 360 degrees continuous rotation, achieved with a hydraulic motor and gearbox and incorporated brake, add to safety.
The Cormach cranes are available with radio remote control units and come standard with factory fitted ‘load limiting’ devices with the added bonus of being compliant with the soon to be released new code of practise for cranes early next year – they are both versatile and extremely strong. This allows them to be used in the hardest and most demanding industries. Designed with the aid of computer ‘finite life and stress analysis’ programmes, Cormach durability results in a minimal requirement for spare parts because, as Mike says, “these cranes are just so good”.
Some models of Cormach are specified with automatic speed controls (ASC), which allow the cranes increased capacity and ability to lift more without compromising life, but still work at an efficient speed when handling lighter loads.
Being able to supply New Zealand industry with the best cranes from around the world means that AllCrane Sales & Services Ltd are in the ideal position to meet their mission statement objective to be both dedicated and specialised suppliers of equipment and services for all cranes. “With our spare parts holding, for instance, we’ve been able to assist our customers with excellent plant availability. AllCrane equipment owners purchase our products because they need them to work and we are here to provide them with that availability and service,” Mike adds.
With a new website (www.allcrane.co.nz) up and running, prospective owners are able to study AllCrane’s entire range of products, as well as the technical specifications for each particular unit.
